The Window

The Window

A Poem by Angelita

I stand at my window and watch
As life is projected out like a movie
And the harder I try to press pause
The faster life slips through my fingers

I keep trying to rewind to the time
When all made sense, we were happy
Our souls mended together and your face
In my heart, will it forever linger

The window dims and grows dull
Glass cracking and the beautiful frame
Starts to mold and chip, pieces scattered
On the floor, little by little it decays

The movie I longed to preserve
Now has been destroyed, forever
It will never be as it once was
Those beautiful moments have slipped away

This really shows the nature of time. The harder you try to hold onto it, the more fragile it becomes. This makes me think of bitter-sweet reflection. This poem seems sad to me but I love it.

Very beautiful. I feel the same way, actually. Wish there was some way to travel back in time to when things were simpler
