Chapter 20A Chapter by Angelique
I walked out of the school grounds and found Jordan already waiting for me.
"Hey," he muttered unsure of what I have decided. I smiled and replied, "Hey." His eyes started to sparkle with hope. "So?' "So...I have decided to give you a chance." "Yes," he enthused and pulled me into a hug. "You're suffocating me," I mumbled in his chest. He let out a laugh and released from from his death grip. "You won't regret this." "I hope not." Jordan lives with his parents of course. When we got to his house he introduced me to them. He took after his father a lot. Except he had shorter hair, had more age to him and a bit more weight. Jordan's mom reminded me of Oliver. Oliver had taken most of his looks from her. Especially the eyes. Jordan then took me into the house, so that his parents could get back to work. "This is the kitchen," he indicated to me a clean kitchen with only a few dishes stacked up. "The living room, the dining room..." We started to walk down the hall." Bathroom, mum and dads room." We walked passed a closed door and he didn't tell me what significance that room was. I stopped walking," Spare room?" I asked pointing to the closed door. "Oliver's old room." "Mind if I...?" I trailed off. Jordan shrugged. "Go ahead, you might find something you might like." I opened the door to Oliver's old room. I could tell no one had been in there since he left. His floor still had clothes scattered on the floor, school books on the desk and posters on the walls. From the corner of my eye I noticed a small stack of CD's. I walked over to them and started to go through them. Goo Goo Dolls, Never Shout Never, Plain White T's, Snow Patrol...and more bands like that. "Can I have these CD's?' Jordan nodded. "It's not like Oliver is coming back to collect them anyway." Oh...well he might not be coming to collect them, but I will be giving them to him. "Let's get out of here, it's depressing and boring." I nodded and followed him out of the room. "And this is my room," Jordan concluded as he opened the door. Jordan's walls weren't covered with bands and posters like Oliver's was. The only things he had was fairs that were held in town and awards he had gotten from school. I nodded. "Cool." Jordan grinned at me. "Do you want to sit down?" Jordan asked nodding towards his bed. "Sure," I replied, sitting on the edge of his queen size bed. I felt something against my foot and I bent down to shove it under the bed more when I noticed that it was a photo album. I sat back up and had it in my hand looking at Jordan with curiosity. "Ah...Don't look at that." "Why?" "Because it is depressing." "How's it depressing?" "It just is." We stared at each other for about a minute, with a look of his saying please don't and mine replying please can I. After a while he nodded and gave me the go ahead and he put his head in his hands. I opened it and found that it was a collage made by Eve. The first page was a cover of him playing around school, studying, smiling, laughing, concentrating...The second page was him at a social event at the lake. The third page was of him and Eve when they were still dating. The next four pages were snapshots of him playing the guitar at school, or posing with his guitar, or performing with his guitar. "I see what you mean by depressing." I mumbled. Jordan sighed,"Sometimes you just have to give up on your dreams." "I still think that's stupid." "You may think it is, but I am all my father has left. I can't just go and leave him with the farm. No one else will be able to run it and it has been in my family for generations. I am not going to be the one to ruin it."
