Chapter 9

Chapter 9

A Chapter by Angelique

I rinsed my face with cold water and walked towards my room, taking off my shoes. It hard finally gotten dark outside at 9 pm, I was dead tired.
I curled up in my bed, switched on my bed lamp and opened up a book.
As I got more into my book, my eyes started closing till I finally blacked out.

"Get up!" Mum said.

I opened my eyes, it was pitch black. I reached my hands towards my face and realized my face was covered by my book from last night. As I removed the book from my eyes, I squinted immediately from the sunlight shining into my room.

"Ugh, I think I might be turning into a vampire." I told myself.

I rose from my bed and slipped on a pair of jeans and a long sleeve t-shirt. It seemed a lot cooler today.

I glanced at the clock and noticed that it was already 8:20.

"S**t." I muttered

I quickly picked up my bag, slipped my feet into my combat boots and bolted for the stairs.

I jogged down the road muttering, "S**t, s**t, s**t," the whole time.

An old red truck came up on the old dirt road and slowed down to my walking pace.

"Well hello there," came the voice of Oliver.

I glanced at him through the window, "came to taunt me have you?"

"No, actually I am offering you a ride....Unless you want to walk?"

I stopped walking and he stopped the car. I stared at him through the window as he gave me a genuine smile. After a minute of staring, I gave him a smile back and opened the door to the car, climbing in. It smelled strongly of grass, oil, rust and cow s**t.

"I'm sorry to inform you, but your car stinks."

Oliver chuckled, "well then thank goodness it isn't my car then. It's my grandfather's. He said I can use it today as I was running late."

"Well I say if we are going to be late, we might as well be fashionably late."

He glanced down at his ripped black jeans and open flanneled shirt. "I don't think that is possible in Lake Gloria. It's to much of a hell hole to have any fashion taste. I could go for some skinny jeans, a nice black t-shirt, but instead I am stuck in former boy clothes."
