Clockwork CrazyA Poem by AngelinaDoes the ticking of the clock ever drive you up the wall? This is a little farther than most people would go.
The ticking of the clock is pesky,
Like a buzzing mosquito in my ear, It fills my mind; it's all I hear. "Tick-Tock; Tick-Tock; Tick-Tock" Each "Tick" grows louder, Each "Tock" more intense, Until I am lost to every other sense. "Tick-Tock; Tick-Tock; Tick-Tock" The clock is hateful, It pounds its way into my brain, Causing deafening pain. "Tick-Tock; Tick-Tock; Tick-Tock" Enough to drive me insane... "Tick-Tock; Tick-Tock; Tick-Tock" I cannot run, I cannot hide, It finds me in the darkest corner of my mind. "Tick-Tock; Tick-Tock; Tick-Tock" I scream in terror as it chases me Up and down each hall, Until I fall... "Tick-Tock; Tick-Tock; Tick-Tock" It catches me and holds me captive, All the while yelling, All the while calling, "Tick-Tock; Tick-Tock; Tick-Tock" It grins it's nasty grin for me to see, Laughs while I try to escape this hell, I cry and call and scream and yell. "Tick-Tock; Tick-Tock; Tick-Tock" I fight too much and exhaust myself, That's when I see him snear, He walks over and whispers in my ear, "Tick-Tock; Tick-Tock; Tick-Tock" It echos through my skull, I can't get away from this sound, In defeat, I lie on the cold ground, "Tick-Tock; Tick-Tock; Tick-Tock" I shiver with each "Tick" I jolt with each "Tock" I have to break that clock. "Tick-Tock; Tick-Tock; Tick-Tock" I smash the glass and scatter the gears, In triumph I stand over my battered prize, And joyful tears come to my eyes. " " Silence. There won't be anymore "Tick-Tock" At least not from that clock. " " It's nice, I finally have peace and quiet... ......It turns out, I actually hate the silence. © 2013 Angelina |
