Shadow

Shadow

A Poem by Angeliki Largatzis

I do not know your face,
And I never hear your voice -
But somewhere within my muddled dreams,
You always linger.

You are a part of me,
Of my desires
Of my fears -
I know your atmosphere,
And its familiarity is unsettling.

You bring my best to light,
And my worst to gloom -
You call in the shadows,
And you chase them away -
However,
Your existence is my deceit.

Those shadows can haunt us. Willingly or not.
"You bring my best to light,
And my worst to gloom -
You call in the shadows,
And you chase them away -
However,
Your existence is my deceit."
I liked and I understood the above lines. I do believe, a person can touch us without contact. Even ground can make a friend far-away. Thank you dear Angeliki for sharing your amazing poetry and your thoughts.

What a wistful, wonderful secret you've unearthed! Your words are a given exposure that's warm from start to finis, and, hopefully acknowledged by the one who is part of you.. deceit or not. Be safe.
