Damaged.

Damaged.

A Poem by Angeliki Largatzis

I'm slipping away
Nobody can see
As I lay, tears falling.
There's a shadow
Where I imagine a future,
Broken pieces, scattered
Which I cannot seem to pick up
The glue long since dried
Multiple times before
Have I attempted
To fix this broken person in the mirror,
Whose smile seems fake to me
Taunting me
Waiting
For the moment I let down my walls
So she can watch me crumble
So she can laugh at my screams,
My tears and blood
To spill, erasing all the dirt
Of who I was before.

this is a well written and well presented piece
I can not suggest change(s) as it would then become mine
it is most powerful as is!
I will most certainly will revisit your offerings

This is gorgeous...
Lilting
Well-rhymed
INTENSE feeling of emotional despair is prevalent, like snow in an avalanche...
Your writing reminds me of the messages I try to convey... But fail miserably AT conveying without abstract loopholes...
Keep writing...

like Oedipus, when the choir speaks at the end of the play...saying something about how we hope on our death to reconcile the bad stuff and get the good stuff to balance the ledger...love the last two lines especially. And the shadow where the speaker imagined the future...Like the theme of that phrasing.
I could almost imagine Sylvia Plath reading this and relating to it.
nice work,
j.
