Sasha's cryA Story by Anne Davidson-LambJust a short story that I have wrote to share hope you all enjoy the read.
In 1823, Sasha was traveling with a group
of gypsies through the valley of Loire. To the the left there stood a castle it looked As if it was carved out of the side of a mountain. There was vines and greenery growing upon the stones. A thick fog rose off the nearby water giving it a eerie feeling. It sent chills down Sasha's neck and back. Causing the hairs of her neck to stand up. She couldn't wait till they made it to the nearby town. Sasha was getting tired she needed her rest for the long travel to Lotharingia where her father was living. She had to find him she had not seen him since she was five. Now since her mother and brother had died he was the only family that she had left. The wind was cold it cut through her cloak like a knife. It caused her teeth to chatter. The sky was ever so black the clouds covered the stars. Blocking out the only light they had other than their lantern's. The trees blew along with the wind. Soon there was a sound of howling in the distance. Sasha knew they had to move fast before the wolves could catch their scent which wouldn't be long with the way The wind was blowing. “We got to get to town!!!!” She screamed out at the man in the lead. Suddenly Sasha head the sound of a stick breaking she knew they had found them. One jumped out of the brush startling Sasha's horse. She fell to the ground as she watched her horse kicking and running from the wolves attacking him.Tears fell from her eyes. The wind caused them to feel like pins tearing at the corner of her eyes. In the distance she could hear the screams of the Gypsies as the wolves attacked them. Sasha knew the only hope she had was to run toward the castle. In hopes they would offer her safety. She ran as fast as She could through the trees in the woods Tearing her sleeve and Cutting her shoulder. She was to scared To feel the pain from the cut. The blood ran down her arm. It seemed as if she was running for hours when she finally reached the castle. She knocked at the gate. "Help please help the wolves are after me!" She shouted with tears in her eyes. The fear can be heard in her voice. She soon heard the gate begin to lower. “Who dares to bother the Lord Askan?” My name is Sasha I was going to see my father when the group of gypsies I was traveling with was attacked by wolves. I was thrown from my horse and the wolves chased him off. I just need a safe place to rest I will be on my way first thing in the morning if you would give me sanctuary. © 2016 Anne Davidson-Lamb |
