Heart's Fire

Heart's Fire

A Poem by Angelica Marie

Heart’s Fire

There lies a fire

Within my chest

Dancing shadows

On its walls

Burning slowly

To your song

Illuminating brightly

Within your presence

You are vital

To its essence

It needs your warmth

For it to blaze

Without you

It would fade

But instead of love

I received disdain

Instead of light

I received rain

You turned away

From my desire

When all I wanted

Was your fire

But as easily as the sun

Rids the sky of the dark

You douse the Flame

Within my heart

I really liked the way you described the things...
The heartbreak, emotions & pain inside..
I like these lines - But instead of love
I received disdain
Instead of light
I received rain
