MourningA Poem by Angelica H
At 20 her world came crashing down
Her heart was crying while her lips permanently painted a frown She tried everything him and her once did And reflected on her memories with him as a kid She goes back to his house every so often He's no longer there as he rests in a coffin The silence of the home wraps around her form It hits her hard like a massive giant storm Her tears resemble the rain And portrays her pain The thunder is her screaming out for his name And the lighting are the flashbacks of memories that her mind contains She leaves still telling him goodbye The absent reply again triggers her to cry She drives back home to her comfort place Where the framed picture is the only place she can see his face © 2014 Angelica H |
