Pushing away

I push away so I can't get hurt

I push away so I can pick up the parts

Of my broken heart

 

Pushing away is the easest thing to do

Especially when it comes to

Possibly loving someone

 

After being hurt so many times

You can't help but constantly think

That every guy is the same, even though they aren't

 

And that isn't their fault

That's mine

It is mine....

 

People try to help

Friends, Family,

But they don't know the extent of the pain and hurt that was caused

 

I wish I could turn everything off

And just be me,

But somewhere.....something triggers that paranoia

 

And thats when

Everything

Falls apart

 

Yes, I push away everything

To run.....and run

But I have stopped running....and everything has caught up
