AndyA Poem by MariahThis poem is for my late cousin Andrew Green....I wrote it a couple days after his death and haven't really been able to type it until now...You preached and spoke out, You'd state your opinion without a doubt. At times you went to the very extreme, Just to pull things back from breaking at the seam.
With your fist and word you fought, And at times showed lessons that needed to be taught. You showed many to stand and fight, You helped me to continue to write.
And now you have the wings you so rightfully deserve, For all that you've become took some true nerve. You helped those who truely needed it, And wrote words that threw others into a hellish fit.
Your poems showed you were strong, And your truth was anything but wrong. You must feel such relief and serenity, While all of us down here wallow in the pity.
You must be watching and looking down, And you're seeing nothing on our faces but frown. You're probably seeing our eyes fill with tears, And see our thoughts of our greatest fears.
If you could say one last thing worth while, It'd probably be "Don't worry and smile. For I am finally free, Thanks to that stupid old tree."
"Please don't let this pain continue, For I still love all of you. And I wish for you to remember the happy not the sad, Remember the good not the bad."
So on this day of our sorrow, Let's see if Andy left a little courage to borrow. Because we all know he wouldn't rest, Until we all finally felt just a little, tiny, bit of happiness. © 2011 MariahFeatured Review
