Denial

There is no more denial,

Put this in a little note to file.

I always let people in too fast,

Even those who are from my past.

Many have done me wrong,

Some have actually kept me strong.

But all too quickly I open my heart,

Instead of jump back with a start.

Now I'm trying to use my head,

But I fear my soul is close to dead.

So I'm closing up shop,

And cutting the unknown with a chop.

Forgive my new suspicions,

And help me make the right decisions.

I only ask those who are my true friend,

For all others this is the end.

I'm done giving up too much trust,

I wish I didn't have to but I must.

Put this in that note I had you file,

I no longer live in this shadow called Denial.
