How Can I Love You

I don’t know how these feelings are possible.

And yet they are there

Taunting me with pain and sorrow.

I love you and I don’t even know who you are.

How on earth is this possible?

Why are the gods so cruel to me?

You don’t know my pain and suffering

I pray that you never do.

I want to keep it from you no matter the cost.

My life is insane with the past and present

I don’t ever want to know the future.

I don’t want you to get hurt.

But it is I that must be wary of my feelings

I have learned to trust no one

And yet I haven’t learned to not fall in love

Because I’ve fallen in love with you
