The Repeating Kiss

The Repeating Kiss

A Story by Mariah

"Today is going to be much different," she says to her self. "I refuse to let the same thing happen again...for three times in a row."

Young Silver had been going through the same thing every day for the past three days. Each day she would wake up, eat the same food, and then go to school. When she reached school all of a sudden the atmosphere changed immediately. Everyone would just stare in her direction and even point and laugh. She looked at the calendar and the date wouldn't change. She was stuck in this repeating day every day.

Everyday she noticed that she wore different things but the same thing always happended. Silver had run into the one person she absolutely despised and he acted towards her the way he had when they were friends. She was shocked and then he did the unthinkable, for three days in a row, he kissed her. Everyone was laughing because she had never felt such passion from one little kiss and they knew it.

"Tody will be much more different, I swear it." Silver said to herself again as she dressed in something that would make her unnoticeable.

She rode the bus to school, and when she got there, refused to put her mp3 player away. She didn't want to listen to anyone and definitely just wanted to ignore HIM. She was bobbing her head back and forth to the beat and then saw HIM coming towards her. She turned around to let him know to leave her alone. It was a miracle because he saw this and walked away disappointed. Silver felt a feeling she never wanted to feel, she also felt disappointed. She even felt a little desire to be kissed like that again. She hated that feeling and tried to get away from it for the rest of the day.

"What is wrong with me," Silever asked her dearest friend. "I shouldn't desire for him, I hate him."

"So? You know that hate and love coincide right? 'Cause I know I've told you this before." said Jezibell.

"Yeah I know, but I don't like hearing it!" Silver said practically yelling.

After lunch she went about her day as usual. She ran to English and Math ignoring his calls to her. Finally, she just had to run to her bus and she would be free of this repeating day. That's when she saw HIM running towards her. She tried not to be noticed but it didn't work, he came running right up to her and grabbed her shoulders.

"I've been trying to talk to you all day Silver. Why were you ignoring me?" He asked innocently, as if he really had no clue as to why.

"I...I've been...um....busy. I...really didn't...want to be late for my claswses." Silver stuttered out quickly. "And I really don't want to miss my bus sooo..."

That's when he kissed her...AGAIN!! Her head began to swim with ideas of them together in this endless day forever. This time she allowed the kiss to happen, it became more passionate and everyone around them began to make inappropiate noises and hoots and howls, but she didn't care anymore. She loved this feeling.

She went home and went about the rest of her day in a happy bubble. When she went to bed she hoped the day would finally change and she could finally move on in her new found relationship with him. But when she woke up the next day, it had not changed. She was doomed to repeat the same kiss for the rest of her life but, now she no lnoger cared. She was finally able to accept this as her fate and she was actually looking forward to seeing him in the halls again.

It's different. I'd like to know why she's stuck in this never-ending loop. It feels very flat. When reading it, I honestly hear a monotone voice in my head droning on with no definitive direction. This seems to have a lot of potential and with some work could make a really good story.
