“Thank You” Just Isn’t Enough

A Poem for My Mom

More beautiful than diamonds,

More valuable than gold,

But your precious gifts of Spirit

Cannot be bought or sold.

~

My model for maternity –

A legacy foretold –

The true meaning of family,

Ever strong, as our lives unfold.

~

My loving heart swells for you –

Who taught me to be bold.

Grateful tears burn for you –

Who never left me out in the cold.

~

Everything you’ve given me,

Since into this life I rolled,

Is so much more than I can ever repay;

And so you must be told:

~

You are a wonder, humble hero,

A miracle! A broken mold.

A treasure in my life

Within my heart I hold.

Going through some tough times right now and, as always, Mom is there to hold me up. I cant afford Christmas this year... but I can write, so as Elton John sang in Your Song: I know its not much but its the best I can do
