child's play

child's play

A Poem by Angelface

child’s play

give the children what you would want them to have
as if they were already old
they are like clay in an adult’s hand
our human masterpiece to mold

and if life imitates art
then childish play imitates life
somewhere in between they glean
habits that teach or cause strife

so give the children what you want them to have
but you give them plastic guns
and wonder at such a thing as war
while we lose so many sons

and for our beautiful li’l girls
anatomically impossible dolls
now starvation equals beauty
they binge and purge our downfalls

so i say

give the children what you want them to have
to remember when they are old
because this is all a game called life
and memories are made of gold
