Desire is PoisonA Poem by AngelfaceSuch a truth was never spoken as this, young hearts - pay heed!
Desire is Poison
Selfish black heart full of flaming desire
That which singes my soul with frustrated anger…
I would burn my immortal hope on a funeral pyre
Lest the ache of wanting should tear me apart.
Trapped within the illusion of time yet my soul floats higher,
Watching me wallow in desperate sensation.
I dangle from the silver cord above a menacing emotional fire.
My fear of solitude consumed as fuel.
Wrongfully seeking God among men as my completion and sire,
For when two become one who ceases to exist?
O’ Saints, give me the strength to fight a seductive dream and call love a liar!
For I am whole…
