I'll See You In My Dreams...

I love it when you fold me up

Like a sleepy paper doll

Because you know my soul is worn that thin.

 

Wrapped in the cocoon of your embrace

I know I can let myself fall

Into the darkness of dreams, to be renewed again.

 

The strength of your love & arms around me

Assure me I am safe from it all

Your warm breath on the back of my neck comforts as I turn in.

 

My mind fades from the troubles of the day

Into twilight fantasies of nightfall

Carrying my spirit to where rose petals blow in the wind.

 

Visions of sparkling fireworks reflected in your soulful eyes

Both excite me & enthrall,

Symbolic of our fiery passion, the Yang to my Yin.

 

Memories of mirth & cherishing delight

Come in morning, as my dreamland I recall,

Reminding me of the affection you inspire within.

 

Know that you bring me joy, love, life &laughter,

As each day – more in love I fall.

And closer draw our souls to each other, sentiment akin.

 

And all I can think of is…

How I can’t wait to see you again!
