Silent As the Dead

Silent As the Dead

A Poem by TJ
"

Written upon learning of my rabbit's death last year.

"

Silent as the dead I weep,

Of memories I can't retain or keep,

But as fresh reminders of this pain,

This gaping hole in which I sleep.

Silent as the dead you leave,

As a spirit I cannot ever retrieve;

You turn your head for one last glance,

But a sigh is all that I receive.

Silent as the dead we mourn,

For your light, your love,

Your smile long gone-

Goodbye.
