Sometimes Happiness Hurts

To those who feel on the outside of life...

Sometimes, happiness hurts…

 

I was always on the outside

Looking in;

Always trying to hide

With that same fake grin;

Wanting no one to see my pain

Or the tears that stream down my face,

So that one day I could bury it

Where it would forever remain.

 

But happiness hurts

And sometimes we have to cry,

To let it all out-

Even the lie.

 

I am always on the inside

Looking out,

To a world that is bright-

Is this what life is all about?

 

But then, happiness hurts-

We all know its true-

And time can’t heal crap

So what the hell should I do?
