A Fragile Existence

A Fragile Existence

A Poem by TJ
"

Written for a friend in hospital.

"

In this world

We try and try

Hoping; wishing; praying

For a better life

To lead us into tomorrow

And follow us to eternity.

But my friend; it’s not that simple.

Never will we find

What fully quenches our thirst,

Or what fills our heart with everlasting sunshine.

For, we are humans,

Living; breathing; making mistakes

And trying to fix them,

Putting the pieces back together

With a trembling hand.

But let me tell you;

The pieces will never be the same again.

That’s fine, isn’t it?

We can go on living;

Searching for our meaning,

Our very purpose

On this planet,

And when we find it

Our empty hearts

will no longer be as empty anymore.

let me tell you;

The pieces will never be the same again.

That’s fine, isn’t it?

We can go on living;

Searching for our meaning,

Our very purpose

On this planet,

And when we find it

Our empty hearts

will no longer be as empty anymore.
