Mirror ImageA Poem by TJWhen I was in hospital I met many teenagers with serious body issues. This poem commemorates the emotions felt by sufferers of anorexia on their path to recovery. She
looks in the mirror, Her
eyes fixed with scrutiny- ‘What
is this horror? Is
this my destiny?’ The
blade quivering As
it remains undecided; Her
heart trembling As
she tries to fight it. But
it won’t work. She
feels haunted. It’ll
always lurk Where
it is unwanted. She
looks in the mirror, Her
dead eyes are staring At
the girl with the tear; At
the girl who is learning. © 2013 TJAuthor's Note
