Child of God

I wrote this while I was on a mission trip.

In the eyes of every child

I hold a candle to their eyes

And hope through all the darkness

They can see the light of God

The beauty of HIS work

The conversation of every prayer

The innocence of a child

That God shines a light upon

Through every kneel on the ground

Through every bowed head

The safety of God's word can bring peace

Through the life of every child

Through the life of God's children 

We are all the same

As we walk in HIS light

The candle's light will never burnout

HIS words will never be faint

The footsteps in the sand

Will always remain
