The MirrorA Poem by Angela L. GibsonObsession. War. I saw you looking. I don’t care. Yes, you do. I saw you checking. No, I wasn’t. I don’t care. I saw you. In the mirror. I don’t care. Just for that, I’m going to give you another one. Another what? Grey hair? Wrinkle? You’ll have to wait and see. Damn you! Stop giggling. I’m not the one you have to worry about. I just hag you. I don’t kill you. I don’t want to live forever. Do I? But I don’t want to die yet, either. I still have too much to do. Silence. I practice keeping my face perfectly still. No smile lines, crow’s feet, frown lines. Yes there are. Shut up! Damn you! I thought you said you didn’t care? I don’t. Maybe just a little. Vanity? No. You’re aging and you can’t stop it! Silence. © 2008 Angela L. GibsonAuthor's Note
