unfortunate you

unfortunate you

A Poem by Angela
"

For my love who never knew what he was getting into

"
My love
Do you know the gravity of the meaning you hold for me?
Can't see how that could possibly be.
You are... LOVE
You are... LIGHT
You are... JOY
You are... SECURITY
You are... TOUCH
You are... LAUGHTER
You are my secret treasure.
You have saved me and RUINED me
For.... what would I ever do without you.
You leave,  I never know if I will see those beautiful kind blue eyes
Directed at me again.
That gentle smile
So worth it.
If tomorrow with you never were, I would bleed out
until the memories we have created sustain me.
They would last me a lifetime.
You do this for me.... I know.
Sometimes the guilt is overwhelming.
I wake in the night with my heart knocking against my chest
Fear grips me until I feel the answering echo of yours
It calms me. Centers me.
Your arms wrap around me and keep me safe.
They still my restlessness.
You give
I take.
I want to be the giver!
To feed your soul.
Tell me.
Do I ever?
I am your other half.
Does that mean you have to be a person and a half?
What a burden you have assumed.
I have to know. Would you do it again?
Because, as much as you heal me
I will never be whole.
I am trying. Oh how I try.
I wish to bring you
Peace
Love
Laughter
so much more.
This is my goal
Be whole for you
Make you feel loved...Do I?
You are
My LOVE
MY BEST FRIEND
MY LIFE
How I love you.

He was a very lucky man, for you to love him that much.

As perfect an expression of love for another as I have ever had the pleasure to read This is such a wonderful pagan to devotion and longing, yes longing to be perfect in the belove-ed's eyes That it is difficult for me to read without tearing up Such a feeling is rerserved for the one we would die for and OH I would and gladly die for my lady.

My favorite part:
You give
I take.
I want to be the giver!
To feed your soul.
Tell me.
Do I ever?
I am your other half.
Does that mean you have to be a person and a half?
**************

Like you said, writing is incredible therapy, it takes a lot of courage to write like you do. I hope you're able to defeat your demons some day, peace be with you.

You know after hearing your story about being a military wife, it makes the fears of him leaving all the more real. I found this to be a very heartfelt read, and only one who gives all their love could write a piece questioning the reality of their love's affect. You are a very passionate lady Angela, and my heart tells me your best friend is just as madly in love with you, or he wouldn't be willing to sacrifice so much to keep you and your family safe...

Great Write!

Does that mean you have to be a person and a half?

Wow. This was a powerful and sweet poem. The title drew me in and was even better in context.

"If tomorrow with you never were, I would bleed out
until the memories we have created sustain me."

These two lines - the pure of heart.. the desire for love, to confirm love, the daily confirmation of a tortured soul - the comparison to a soldier on the battle field - the bleed out - during battle.. love is a battle is it not? This is a beautiful write, Angela. It's not often that single lines call out to me - but these two lines complete this write, without them it would be good.. with them it is fantastic. Thank you for sharing this with me - I feel obligated to tell you I have been working on a write about life through the eyes of a soldier - hopefully it will be done soon to post - I do hope you'll take the time to read it.

Many thanks for this amazing write - I look forward to more.

This is lovely. I have a sort of ghostly pain in my stomach as if I were almost the person being addressed. Does that make sense?
