Fear of losing

Fear of losing

A Poem by Angel Szabo

Pain gripped my heart

As i watched her still form

The only sign of life

Is the weak breathing

Outside on the streets below

Red and Green can be seen aglow

Cheers and Merry greetings

As loved ones are meeting

Yet the only cheer in here

Is in the childrens ward below

As they open their christmas presents

Faces all aglow.

Yet my true love lays here

And my hearts etched with fear

That ill never hear

Her whisper my name in her sleep

My hearts pounding

And the tears are racing to hit the floor

To join the ones before

The monitor beeps

Before starting its loud

Endless shriek

And im rushed out the door

As i scream for her

To return to me once more
