The Addiction to Men

The Addiction to Men

A Poem by Angellesa
"

Just a moment in life.

"

She loves men does not matter Fat or Thin

Short or Tall she loves them all.

It is not the sex she thrives for

It is the attention that is not mentioned.

She bathes in her addiction for a day

While she gets attention from her prey.

She does not care she feels alive and exist

Just for a moments touch and kiss.

She has all the heart and all the love

But nobody wants it from a broken dove.

She sleeps with who ever she can

Just to feel life in her hands.

You can touch her, feel her and hold her hand

Just as long as you fulfill her plan.

She knows this will not last long

But that is the price for the addicts song.

I have seen this type of addiction in many women it also occurs in men. People with addictive personalities look for love in many different partners or external substances. Every living thing wants a little love and affection. it's the reason why so many marriages end in divorce. With so many choices out there. It's hard to remain loyal to one person for life. it's not necessarily a sexual thing. It is also very easy to fall in love with a compatible personality.

Ah, I know this addiction well and in my youth suffered in a similar fashion. I love the way the rhythmic flow takes the ride with the words inside. It does swim through the mind like a sad yet arousing song. I quite enjoyed reading it. Thanks be to you. Peace&Love be with you...~M~

It's funny isn't it, at 16 it all seems clear (all hormonal), at 18-21 all clear (relationship) and then later like all the other little areas in our lives it becomes comprimised ..
We start out searching for gold and later settle for iron sometimes >..
"She does not care she feels alive and exist
Just for a moments touch and kiss."
Seems to some this up perfectly, just to be noticed and receive attention "again", a perfect line.

Interesting, raw, absolutely relevant to today's woman cos it really isn't the sex women crave, it is the need for acknowledgment of one's existence that is ignited by a largely disconnected and lonely world just like you mentioned in your poem -

It is not the sex she thrives for
It is the attention that is not mentioned.

And honestly anyone who thinks you have to be a woman who sleeps around to relate to this or understand this is wholly wrong cos this poem seems to hold that sort of a woman as a metaphor for any and every woman who's ever felt lonely and hungered for attention and affection...

interesting work.
