Bloodshot Eyes

Bloodshot Eyes

A Poem by Angelus Fortitudo

I lay in my bed as I stare at the ceiling
Wondering where life will take me next
I sigh waiting, for another sleepless night to end
These bloodshot eyes of mine stare blindly
Seeing and yet not seeing

A silent person comes my way
He covers my body with a white sheet
The bloodshot, glassy eyes of mine
Are staring off into nothingness

I watch them as they take my body away
Watch as no one says a thing when I leave
I'm watching them with my bloodshot eyes
Staring at them from a point of no return…

I can see a person on the edge of a grave about to fall in, you have inspired me with you lines. A nice dark piece, I like it. Good job, and very nice image at the end of your first stanza of work.
