See Me

See Me

A Poem by Angelus Fortitudo

How can you look at me and see right through me?

How can you look past me and see nothing there?

You used to see right into my eyes?

But now it’s like I’m nonexistent

What’s changed between us?

Why are things so different now?

Can you look at me and see me again?

Can you really see me?

I’m wishing on a shooting star,

Yet nothing seems to go right

My only wish, is that you can see me…

I love your use of the question mark on that last line. It in a single use of punctuation changes the whole feel of the poem for me, making me feel like there is doubt about what came before. I don't know if I am miss reading it or not, but keep writing! Because you're a wonderful poet.
