Creative Genius

Creative Genius

A Poem by Angel Bird

Happy the one who can let loose of everything around, and get lost in the depths of his passion to embrace his own self, to become one with his soul, to rejoice and rebirth in his native and creative genius ...

When the drug called 'Passion' seizes the artist in me

It doesn't ask for the right time,

If it stands in the way of things ...

Passion doesn't kick in on command

There it is - suddenly! ... without warning

Grabs me, tears me into its voluptuous lap

Overpowering with its grandeur

Each and every feeling and thought within me

No escaping it ....... no option,

But complete surrender to the free oscillations

Of my being

Succumbing to subconsciousness

To mate with my spirit

Nothing but my human shell

Remaining in this material world .....

Out of these magical moments when nothing

Can hold back an artist - hot with creative energy

From pouring it out through a spiritual climax -

The most beautiful, the most perfect,

And the most precious pieces of art are born,

And provide their creator with a

Wonderful sense of achievement and deep satisfaction ...

oh, wow! I know this feeling, sometimes. . . when the words come from nowhere and fill you with more than you've known. . . when you look back and wonder where the big ideas came from and how they spilled themselves on the page so perfectly. This is a favorite!

Creativity can come and go as quick as a blink of an eye. Everyone is creative. But to apply your creativity is a gift most don't have. I liked this one, and am looking forward to a spark in my own creativity, which has been lacking lately.

I too know this but would never put it into words the way you did...
I knew this better as a young child before adult responsibilities and cares crowded in.
Thank you for these words to help me in the ongoing campaign to see the world as a child again.

We are all artists in our own unique sense for art is not what others believe to be amazing or satisfying to the senses. Art is simply anything that can overtake your body and come out with a result that you can accept as pleasing. Artists do not make something to please others, they make art to please their own craving to create something beautiful from their eyes. This 'passion' that splashes over true artists comes at any point of time and at any place. You can't control it. When it comes, it begs to be released and refuses to stop begging until it is.

Usually, when 'passion' takes over an artist, he is still creating something beautiful to him, but it becomes beautiful to others. They begin to see that insignificant dot on the world that you claim to be art with an entire new light. II think this must have happened in the creation of this art.
Great job

man, that really moved me! haha!
i thought it was so deep, and i really could envision an artist overcome with passion.
I think this is really good! you really show how passion can overtake you!
great job!

Wow, truly amazing emotion description and some rather philosophical ideas.
In the first part you illustrate how everyone has the ,,spark,, witch can be manifested with the aid of passion.

This is great but I just don't see what simple thing there is in ( you posted it in the ,,Simple things,, contest remember ?) Passion is surely something far from being simple.

I really like all the conjugal metaphors and the metaphors of birth in this poem- the creation of art is very near the rapture of sexuality, in fact there is usually much sexuality and romance in art to begin with. Both are very intensely creative acts, fuelled by passion, both finsished with a sense of esteem.
