His Power

His Power

A Poem by Aneto

Behold, my God, I come to die
That Christ may live, no longer I
For I have waited on the Lord
His holy truths as treasures stored
Prayed and sought the Father's will
Humbly here, surrendered still
Cried upon my Savior's breast
Desperate for His peace and rest
Closed my eyes to sense His presence
Spirit-led through many lessons
Strengthened in my faith and love
My heart is fixed on things above
Safely held beneath His wings
Forgiven, freed from evil things
Tis power from God to crucify
For life is hid with Christ on high
