Dear Polly - RepriseA Poem by AnetoRhyme scheme and acrostic inspired by my other poem, Dear Polly.I
love you, you know I
hated, it grated, to see this show I
know you know I let this grow I’m
sorry I stepped to leave you alone I
wish, I wish, to see you find home Could
you, could you stay beside me in love? I
am me and you are you I
can see the proven view Love
is war, and all is fair Love
is more than solitaire You
are you and I am me You
would rue this rivalry As
would I, yet here we are As
the sky shows mirrored star We
a pair of starstruck friends We
impair the start of ends Try
to bond before we break Try
to ponder, war at stake To
displace the doubts with trust To
embrace without disgust Find
a way to open speech Find
a ray of hope in reach Home
is near, we’re holding on Home
is here, a golden dawn © 2023 Aneto |
