My last notes...
My last notes to a friend that was deep in sin Along the way we got high. Shutter now to think of the days. The times that passed us by. She was fair beyond compare. And slightly just askew. She held her pride with burning eyes. A statement to our youth. We did our lines and said our lies. To quickly make it through. A sober moment could pass us by. Without making time seem true. My soul ran cold the day she died. Burning gracefully I said goodbye. I turned and never looked again. Towards the grave of lasting sin. The years have passed and still I trace. The tracks across my arms. I think of her with ever breath. So thankful that she's gone. That girl of mine that sharpened knife. That keeper of my tomb. Took more of life than I had to give. That needle and that spoon. -the heart of addiction- © 2015 Andy LewisAuthor's Note
