The Way The Heart Dies

The Way The Heart Dies

A Poem by Andy Lewis
"

A twist on what was thought to be a lie

"
Falling...
Falling like the rain of tears through her fingertips.
she pressed her hands tight across her cheek.
the nights will be black now.
Falling like the sinking feeling of registered regret.
she touched the fading taste of loves last kiss.
the days will be cold now.
Falling like the drops of blood from her angered lash.
she held the secrets of her lost trust deeply.
the years will be silent now.
Falling like the last drips of the i.v. in the arm.
she saw the light that burned like a flame in hell.
the eternal will be agony now.
-She loved him to death-

this reminds me of a smashing pumpkins song called crestfallen. Im not sure why exactly, but maybe you'll get it if you have heard the song lol. Another great poem even though it is sad.
