Mrs. Lazarus

Mrs. Lazarus

A Poem by Andy Lewis
"

What if you could bring them back?

"
Four days,….….….
It's been four days since your beauty has greeted the halls of this place.
Its been four days since the air had your smell drifting on its tails.
Its been four days since my hands have held your delicate pale hands.
It's been four days since I could conceive of anything but bringing you back.
Its been four days since I've gotten this sick and twisted plan in my head.
It's been four days since I've started driving myself mad with this notion.
Its been four days since my madness has taken ahold of my rationality.
It's been four days since I couldn't understand what's so wrong.
Its been four days since I bought this shovel.
Its been four days...
I'll be heading to the cemetery tonight...
-True love never dies-

What's the theme here; death or, just an end of a relationship? The use of shovel, and cementary makes the poem seems so dark-
