The Hearts Last Gasp

The Hearts Last Gasp

A Poem by Andy Lewis
"

A part of the mind that needs to stay closed...

"
I'm stunned. Her hair spoke mysteries as the wind danced it into a ballet along the concrete. Her eyes still stood wild while her last drops flowed silently into the troughs.
In this moment she's free...
The last deep breath I will take of her air, the last taste of her fragrance I will sense on the breeze, but its far from over now.
This moment I've taken will live forever, under my skin, in my lungs with a stitched up heart I scream to the end.
Florence, I dreamed of you Florence. In days of unfathomed longing, I've screamed for you Florence.
I shall carry you with me.
The warmth of my endeavors.
I bring you the love of silence.
The peace of death, the freeing of pain.
Florence, her name was Florence.….….….…...
-said the hangman to the thief-
