A Tortured Flower

A Tortured Flower

A Poem by Andy Lewis
"

Love...at its deepest, where the soul hides

"
Breathe...pull in one more breath.
Take me to your beautiful side.
Along the memories you wish had died.
The side that haunts your waking day.
The side you cannot keep at bay.
The side I love, the side of pain.
The side I dwell in, the side I've stained.
Take me along your beautiful side.
The side with scars, pens and knives.
The side that sobs, the side that cries.
The side the drags you down to me.
The side I've tortured the side that bleeds.
So take me to your beautiful side.
I love it there.
I've made it mine............
-I stay in your mind, just to hear you scream-

The last line was the most interesting to me, however my favorites where definitively "I love it there. I've made it mine...", I'm not sure I understand the title's relationship with the poem, but perhaps I'm just missing the intention you had when you wrote it. All in all it was an interesting piece and I certainly enjoyed while reading it out loud a second time even more, thanks for sharing.
