Motionless

An attempted song.

I'm motionless and silent

Dark corridors surround me

No one stops to help me up

Their footsteps fall beside me

 

I have to do things on my own

Your help I can not take

The nights they get so lonely

From these dreams I have to wake

 

Step aside and let me make my future

Conformity has taken over every simple mind

Creating a mass of people who are only truly blind.

 

I'm tired and feel worthless

The days go on and on

What's happened to the human race

What have we become

 

I need to work on my own life

I need to make things bright

How can you speak of my flaws

When you're not in the right

 

The leaders of our nation

Want us all to be the same

And when it all comes tumblin down

We'll all know who to blame.

I really enjoyed this! It's a great take on how society is nowadays. They try so much to control us, tell everyone what to do, yet they do wrong every left and right and no one bothers to call them out about it, it simply gets covered up and everyone can go home. I especially like the second stanza and how you worded it. I love the last line the most, but it's true that we must begin to wake up from our dreams someday and work on certain things going on with us. Very good write! Keep it up.
