Fluoxetine Symphony

Fluoxetine Symphony

A Poem by AndyJM

Ruined hope,

Cast adrift on a sea of black,

Once again,

The crash,

Harder landing than any fall.

Finding not even desperation to cling to,

No slip or slide, just stones' old grasp,

On salt tears, blade-scarred skin,

No eye can bear to rest.

You cast me off, but soon you'll learn,

The roads I'll walk to watch you burn,

To catch your tears as life’s joy fades,

To drown your dreams in bleeding shade,

You'll never love me back, I know,

You'll only feel my hatred grow,

You'll wish you'd taken one last chance,

To risk it all for one last dance.

Drenched in silence,

Hope all but dashed on the rocks of resignation,

Finding contentment on in this last resort.

His wrath finds no niche here,

It seems enough, to call it low,

Final unresting place of all held dear.

Such days it's hardly worth the cure,

To fight and beg to keep thoughts pure,

But farther down I'll find my rest,

Where flame still burns in toiling chest,

I'll cast aside your petty rope,

Reforge myself in bloody hope,

Again I'll rend the hearts of men,

....and once again I lift my pen.
