Autumn Leaves
A Poem by AndyJCash
I saw a picture, I wrote a poem :)
Hey you with the lovely smile
Come and kick autumn leaves with me
You may say it’s not autumn yet for a while
But I saw the golden brown in an old photograph
So even if we sit in the green grass
Holding hands as the world dances gently by
Inhaling quiet words like laughing gas
I will wait for the leaves to hit the earth
Before too long you’ll have to remind me though
That we’ll be hours apart during the Fall
But I can always pretend with that old photo
At least until I return after the withered leaves
When the snow has fallen and settled down
Then we’ll meet with friends in the warm bars
And we can drink, kick snow, laugh, cry and frown
Just as long as you bring
home that lovely smile

This is a really sweet poem. :) It not only capture the beauty if Autumn but also makes you think. It seems to be more than just about the actual season, but about what and even who that season truly brings. Great work on this :D
