The Rain is Back

While the warm weather is nice, I want to see the rain again in England

We complain in England

Everyday clouds roll in

The rain is back

 

The world is grey and wet

I’m soaked through to the skin

The rain is back

 

Yet of late, clouds aren’t grey

But white and fluffy and calm

The rain has gone

 

Warm middays of football

Sliding tackles, smell of grass

The rain has gone

 

My clothes stick to my skin

Sweat settles on my brow

The rain hasn’t returned

 

Another humid night

No bugs, but won’t sleep tight

The rain hasn’t returned

 

The atmosphere grows close

Once more clouds roll in

The world is grey and warm

We complain in England

The rain is back

This puts am interesting view on things. We are humans that are never really satisfied once we get what we wont it soon grows old...
I live is Washington (the state) and we do the very same thing then summer comes along and we pray for the rain. Anywho i do like this write, great job :)

Great job on this. I like this poem because I do this all the time. It rains for a long time and i hate it but then as soon as i gets sunny I want rain. Great poem.
