Shapeshifters

Shapeshifters

A Poem by lost_poet

Shapeshifters

When the Sun rises,
some people go and  pray.
Instead we choose our faces,
for another long day.

...

We play "guess who" with people all day long,
Whom do you see?
Which mask?
Happy?
Sad?
Fearful?
Strong?

...

"I love your personality!"
Thank you, it is yours.
Because in sad reality
We turn into damn mirrors.

...

But who are, like for real?
I guess just children
that need to be heal(ed)

...

Loosing ourselves
in the oceans
of fakeness
that will never
end.
And why?
Is it all in our head(s)?

...

We are the ones who change reality
out of banality.
Putting our masks away,
let days sink in.
When Sun sets and peole pray,
We change our skin.
