I can love you

I can love you

A Poem by lost_poet

I can love you

I can love you and still choose not to stay,
It is not fair, that's all you say.
Fair? Fair for whom?
With you, there is nothing but a doom.

You play with mind, do tricks and games,
was it written by the Fates?
Got hurt, yet you did not care,
but yeah, you go : it is not fair.

I can love you and still choose to walk away,
Now you just beg, beg me to stay.
Threats, games and guilt, that's how you play,
When it's too late, you start to pray.

I got just memories, from the hurtful past,
Even you said: it will not last.
If you knew then, why did we,
listen to the origin plea?

I can love you and still choose myself,
In selflove lays the wealth.
Abuser will not understand,
I am entering my own, new land.

Me
Take a breath
Look around
This was meant to be found.

You
Listen carefully
Can you hear me roar?
I can love you
BUT I LOVE MYSELF MORE!

Pancakes are trash we all know waffles are the superior breakfast food, The design is perfect with it's traps for butter an syrup too. This poem is fan freaking-tastic, I don't like manipulators who twist the heart for their own personal desires, thank you for sharing.

A rallying cry. BUT I LOVE MYSELF MORE!
It takes bravery and determination to walk away from an abuser. I like the positivity in this write. The mouse has turned into a lion and this reader heard the mighty roar.
