Bittersweet wine

Bittersweet wine

A Poem by lost_poet

I poured wine into a glass,
Thinkin' of your burning gaze.
Memory of how you let everything pass,
Whenever I craved your bitter taste.

Those poisoned lips, lining my skin,
Ice cold eyes with devilish grin.
I swirl the wine, tasting a bit.
Truth burns as when candle's lit.

Bittersweet lips,
Just tried to kiss,
My world rips,
All the wine spills.

Your touch is gone,
Shadow leaves the bone,
Leaving me with a dime
costing, bittersweet wine.

you paint a very good vignette in this piece. a woman sits drinking wine thinking about an old flame. it is such a private and domestic setting, that the reader feels they are intruding on someone. but these moments should be shared, and explored in writing. it is unwise to be ashamed of feeling a certain way or thinking a certain thought or retrieving a certain memory. let us be who we are and find happiness just as we are.
