Mask of Bees (Lyrics)

A Poem by Andy Crawford
"

Lyrics for the track "Mask of Bees" by Alternative Rock band Turn off the Sun, in which I write, sing and play Bass.

"

Mask of Bees

Been caught in the middle of

A week in traction

Where too much substance

Can cause distraction

I wanted you for my trophy rack

I wanted you on my CV

One hundred pounds of your skin and bone

Sitting on my doorstep wearing a mask of bees

Been dropped in the middle of

A homemade hurricane

So I drink my conscience away

And we’ll see where that gets me

I wanted you for my trophy rack

I wanted you on my CV

One hundred pounds of your skin and bones

Sitting on my doorstep wearing a mask of bees

A thought came to me only yesterday

As we slept in the light of your eyes

I never had time to evaluate

And you never had time to sympathise

So we slept in the wake of complexity

Afraid to declare who we are

But you never had time to evaluate

And I never had time to sympathise
