Continuance

Continuance

A Poem by Andrew Nelson Stewart
"

Perpetuation of journeys we pass along the way of saying goodbye and looking outward to see what consisting waves bring in for a reflection, to show what we are inside and what we missed from another.

"

Thy contrast between elevated reflections and thy contour
Of rocking eyes going back to thy bow,

As recalling to contingent skies through remaining
                              receivable meet and greets,

How I became isolated in this
                      very near,

Self-propelling and sea-dwelling reflections,

Sitting by thy edge of silhouettes
                   dancing in the rain,
          forbearance as rainfalls,

Darker image in a lighter background,

Convalescing continual rides as unlikely coincidences
In thy plot made the story seem contrived,

Thy contrast of elevated reflections turning the knob
of a door that was once there,

Proving how much we carry,

How much we run from things

Distinguishing what makes us run to thy bow,
For a forever stare in never ending
                        unquestionable rocking eyes,

Contrasting mirror image to an open wild pink yonder,

Continuing in a celestial sphere

Looking down, seeing what I didn't see before

A sailing in thy sky was all I need to see.

Cast away in continuance.

the things (time, family, love, food, money...) absent in our lives determines how much we carry and ultimately how much we don't even notice, how much we run away from.
we are alone because we chose to, it seems.
it is the human tragedy
this poem is deeply considered and well written.
