Fingerprints in Thy Silence

Fingerprints in Thy Silence

A Poem by Andrew Nelson Stewart
"

Coloring the sky the same color and leaving it that way because its my home I want to still live in. Pain and heartbreaks bring changes but you makes you stronger and some heartbreaks you can't let go

"

Catching love in thy continuance of an eye, glancing up to a universe of a mind,
It's kind of hard to know what to say, when no one can describe how thy sea changes.

But to only see how we loved to hang over thy edge and watch thy bow of a ship slice through waves
especially when the waves are high and captured how the ship rose and fell,

To know no matter what said or done, we will always be making fingerprints together in silence.

It's easy to think that's the way it will always be, just remember I'll guard the doorway to assure what comes in or out,

To say
"My Pleausre without a doubt".

To reminisce about those old songs we sung together, driving home with one headlight on believing it was our luck,

When I hear those old songs that sneak up on me like a brother playing hide and seek with you, it's easy to sing along.

In thy presence with silence all around,
hearing myself breathing gently to not make any sounds,

To stare at those prints that indiscriminately say "I love you and our times spent".

" Come take my hands to know every moment our bond becomes stronger and don't you cry",
Is what was said for our goodbyes.

How's does the sea change or what is more difficult for you, looking into someone's eyes when you are telling them how you feel or looking into someone's eyes when they are telling you how they feel?

This is what's in my mind,
only to see us in other people while hanging over thy edge and loving the same thing we did before,

Living in memories, glimpsing how you loved the snowflakes that landed on your rosy cheeks and to witness you enjoy the gifts of thy crying sky.

All I know is to pick up my faith to form the best sentences, to find the answer we were looking for "How does a sea change?

To see somethings can change and you can only just read through, to keep on thy shelf for another story in thy night falls for our future newborns.

I wanted to tell you but you weren't there to share my answer to, when words don't form those beautiful lines,

Only to make fingerprints in silence until the day knocks on my door for it's rent, when it does I'll remember what you said " Come take my hands and don't you cry".
