17-04-20 Ten Words Challenge

The plural of moose is meese. That’s one of his ‘jokes’ that had him in a spasm of laughter. Now it’s a memory of sweet bitterness. I was frumpy and frazzled and his usual phantom act of silently gliding from room to room was simply easier. But one day there were blood curdling screams like a cat in a mangle. Now all I have are photos of those apricot curls. I’m no clairvoyant. I wasn’t to know that we only had seven short years.

Hi Andronicus. Thank you for taking the 10 Words I Give challenge, yet again. I was curious to see how these ten words would play out in the minds of my peers. It's such a pleasure to read the works of art. Nice placement of each given word; seems totally natural. I've even been 'frumpy and frazzled' in my lifetime. Scary to hear cats in a 'mangle'. Nothing like it. Seven is such a short time, but can yield a lifetime of memories, like 'moose to meese'! Loved that.

Your quirky, cheeky style of writing works well for these "X Word Challenges". You have a way of making everything make some sort of sense. On an unrelated note, when I saw the date this was posted, I assumed it would be a 4-20 themed story. Can't say I disappointed it's not.
