Chapter Thirteen

 

Amber and Laura stood side by side in the hallway in front of Rocky the statue. Their bags were packed and ready to go. They could hear their dad calling them to hurry up. "Just give us a minute" Amber yelled. Then to Laura "Look at this..." She ran her finger down the thin groove in Rocky's arm and touched the scratch mark on his ankle.

"It's kinda awkward standing here in front of Rocky when he's naked" Laura commented.

Amber laughed. "Don't I know it!"

"But there's just one thing I'd like to do" said Laura. She whipped a permanent marker out of her bag. On the back of Rocky's pedestal she wrote in big letters. 'ROCKY.' "Incidentally, how did you know?" she asked, snapping the lid back on to her texta. "How did you know your idea was going was going to work?" 

Amber's eyes sparkled. "It's really simple." She made some familiar movements with her hands.

Laura's face lit up and the sisters answered in unison.

"Paper always beats rock."

That was a great little story. Full of summer fun. Thank you Andronicus, I really enjoyed that. Who knows. This could even become an adventure saga, when they go back on thei holidays each year and take Rocky on more adventures.:-)

No, It was just a little niggle about the scissors at the beginning, and then Rocky,so when they started with the paper, something just clicked :-)
