Words Under Words.

Words Under Words.

A Poem by Vanessa
"

This was inspired by a dream I had.

"

Her words had more power than any-one's.

She can turn monsters into meadows with a single sentence.

You were never down and out with her voice.

She couldn't do any wrong with what she put on paper.

The words were paved with love, and gold.

They broke stones, they soothed oceans.

She put the fire out in your stomach.

She dried the tears in your eyes.

She made you warm at night.

She used the words she help onto every day.

The same words he told her the night at sea.

The night the moon was shot down.

He made her feel invincible that night.

He made her feel extraordinary.

He left that night promising to return.

Two years pass.

The stars are the only witnesses.

But they won't tell.

Two decades pass.

The sea was asked to bring him.

But they never did.

Where are you now?

Where is she now?

I don't know.

She leaves the night the moon came over.

The stars gossip about her for days.

The woman that made our dreams seem real was gone.

The words are whispered over and over again.

As the song plays on repeat.

As the song plays on repeat.

Even wiuth misspellings, it's lovely! "monsters into meadows"... lovely imagery, beautiful, awe-struck and mournful tones.
